This last Thursday...

Lacy Mullis was our biggest looser for the week-she lost 9 pounds! Great job Lacy-she said that she stopped drinking soda and that helped the pounds fall off!We had such a fun time this last Thursday at our meeting! After we weighed in , a few of us stayed and we walked the block around the church for 30 minutes. The weather was perfect, it was a good exercise and fun to get to know each other more! We would have loved to have more of you there!!!




This Thursday , April 16th we are going to meet at 6:30 for a weigh in and then a small workout inside! We would love to see everyone there!!! Bring some weight loss tips to share if you want!

Weigh in this Thursday!!!

Hey Sisters!!! Hope you are having a good week with your goals that you have set!



We will have a weigh in on Thursday at 6:30pm.



Kandy Antwine is not able to make it to the meeting (keep her father in your prayers he is having a big surgery).She was going to do exercise tips for us.

How about if we just keep it simple, do a weigh in and HOORAH for everyone and walk around the church (hopefully the weather will be nice for outside).
If you have kids, bring a stroller. :)If you want to participate in walking, wear comfy clothes and shoes.

April 2nd

Barbara brought a pair of "virtual shrinking pants". The one with the biggest weight loss for the week gets to cut a piece off the pants.

Kandy Antwine lost the most last week - 8 lbs! Way to go Kandy!!!

Way to go Diet Divas and Healthy Hotties! All together we lost a total of 25 lbs. last week!!!!

Barbara gave great advice about Goal Setting Strategies!! Identify the goal. What do you want to accomplish? Write it down. Look at it often. Take action steps to achieve your goal. Be specific with what you are going to do.

Follow Through!!!


Use the reward and reprimand system. (This is totally optional). If you take action and move one step closer toward your goal, reward yourself with some small treat. (think outside the fridge!!) If you procrastinate, penalize yourself by taking something away from yourself. This is not meant for you to put yourself down though.


Keep yourself motivated all the time - affirm and visualize the achievement of your goal. Do this every morning and night. Try a post it note on your bathroom mirror or inside of a door.

We had so much fun at our first Sisterhood of the Shrinking Pants group!!!

Here is what we decided as a group...
*We will have a weekly weigh in on Thursday nights at 6:30. At the "weigh in", we will have the group share what is working for them (or True Confessions of what is NOT working) and a brief lesson (such as Goal Setting, Healthy Recipes, Food Pyramid Guide, etc.). If you know you can't make it on Thurs., the scale will be available on Wed. night meetings - contact me and I'll let you know where the scale is.Also note, no one else sees your weight! For your eyes only!*We created 2 groups. The Diet Divas and The Healthy Hotties. If you want to participate, I'll randomly assign you a group. Each week at the weigh in, you will keep track of total pounds lost (or gained). At the end of the month, we will see which group has lost the most weight. I don't know about you, but I may not be motivated to do it for myself alone but I can do it for my team!!!! What great motivation!!!

* We are going to set up an on-line blog so we can check in with each other during the week, post pictures, leave comments, etc.

Basically that's it in a nutshell - weekly weigh in with motivation, weekly challenge and comparing the 2 teams weight loss.

The good thing about this program is that if you live far out and don't want to drive in for the meetings, you can still participate! You just have to let me know each week what your loss/gain is. You can also choose to just pop in every now and then and see what's going on. You don't have to be on a team. Just let me know what works best for you. That's what this is all about...finding something that works for us to get healthy!!!

If you are interested in joining a team, please let me know. I have notebooks for everyone interested so you can keep a diet diary.You need to go weigh yourself (I know....) and write down your weight. Then we'll do it again next week.
For those interested, the weekly challenge is to use your "diet diary" and just make at least one change in your daily habits - for the better!
Thanks for all those who came (we had 13 there tonight and at least 12 more interested, and helped to set this all up!!!We are going to be the healthiest Relief Society group EVER!!!
